Shen Lian Biomedical wins approval for new dual-purpose swine vaccine

Shanghai Shen Lian Biomedical Corporation (SSE:688098) has received approval from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for a new veterinary drug product: a bivalent inactivated vaccine targeting both swine streptococcosis and infectious pleuropneumonia (Type 2 ZY-2 strain + Type 1 SC strain). The approval, with certificate number 280181168 and commercial name "Chuan Lian Qing," is valid from September 3, 2025, to September 2, 2030, marking the product's readiness for market entry. This vaccine is designed to prevent two major bacterial infectious diseases in pigs, which are known to cause significant economic losses to the swine farming industry.

The new vaccine addresses key industry challenges by focusing on "precise strains" to target prevalent serotypes in domestic pig herds, offering a "one-shot, two-disease" solution that surpasses traditional single-disease vaccines.
