Dongfeng Automobile August production, sales fall sharply

Dongfeng Automobile Company Limited experienced a decrease in overall vehicle production and sales for August 2025 compared to the same period last year. Total vehicle production for August 2025 was 6,841 units, down from 8,134 units in August 2024, marking a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 20.11% to 77,364 units. Sales figures mirrored this trend, with 7,126 units sold in August 2025, a decrease from 8,483 units in August 2024, leading to a cumulative year-on-year sales decline of 17.39% to 84,713 units.

Breaking down the figures, light trucks saw a production decrease of 17.29% cumulatively, while passenger vehicles experienced substantial cumulative production declines of 58.87% and 10.55%, respectively. New energy vehicles also faced a cumulative production reduction of 25.49%. In contrast, Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., a 50/50 joint venture, reported positive growth, with cumulative engine production up 5.14% and sales up 9.93% year-on-year.
