Foton Motor reports strong August sales, driven by new energy vehicles

Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. announced its August 2025 production and sales data, highlighting significant increases across several categories. Total vehicle sales for August reached 51,375 units, up 11.61% year-on-year, bringing year-to-date sales to 424,808 units. Production also saw a healthy rise, with 47,066 units in August and 427,039 units year-to-date, marking a 12.50% increase from the previous year.

The new energy vehicle segment was a key growth driver, with August sales soaring by 126.55% year-on-year to 7,773 units. Year-to-date, new energy vehicle sales reached 65,709 units, an impressive 126.55% increase. Production figures for new energy vehicles also reflected this trend, with a 131.13% year-on-year increase for both August and year-to-date totals. Heavy-duty trucks (including Foton Daimler) contributed 9,036 units to August sales, with cumulative sales of 65,040 units from January to August, up 69.35% year-on-year.

Engine product sales (including Foton Cummins) for August were 19,126 units, totaling 172,393 units year-to-date. Foton Cummins engine sales alone reached 13,124 units in August, with 118,534 units sold year-to-date, a 12.33% increase. The company noted that new energy vehicles include pure electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
