SAIC Motor sees strong August production and sales growth

SAIC Motor Corporation Limited announced its August 2025 production and sales figures, showing robust growth. Total vehicle production for the month reached 376,913 units, a substantial 44.05% increase compared to August of the previous year. Year-to-date production stands at 2,834,625 units, up 22.58% from the same period last year. Sales also performed well, with 363,371 units sold in August 2025, marking a 41.04% rise year-on-year. Cumulative sales for the year reached 2,753,493 units, a 17.87% increase from the prior year.

Several subsidiaries contributed to this positive performance. SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile saw particularly strong growth, with August production up 63.39% and sales up 49.08% year-on-year. SAIC General Motors also experienced a significant surge, with August production increasing by 122.05% and sales by 176.87% compared to the previous year. SAIC Passenger Vehicle Company recorded production growth of 68.35% and sales growth of 78.46%.

New energy vehicles were a key growth driver, with 140,510 units produced in August, a 60.08% increase year-on-year, and cumulative production of 921,264 units, up 47.92%. Sales of new energy vehicles also climbed significantly, reaching 129,771 units in August, a 49.89% increase, and a year-to-date total of 893,328 units, up 44.39%. Exports and overseas bases also saw positive trends, with August production increasing by 13.51% and sales by 10.48%.
