China Shenhua brings 1,000 MW coal unit online

China Shenhua Energy announced its wholly-owned subsidiary successfully completed a 168-hour trial run for Jiujiang Phase II Unit 3, bringing the 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating unit into commercial operation.

The unit, located in Jiangxi Province, features advanced technology with designed net coal consumption of 259.92 g/kWh under condensing conditions. It supports zero wastewater discharge and ultra-low air pollutant emissions.

Construction of Unit 4 is progressing and expected to commence operation soon.
