Agricultural Bank of China redeems RMB 35 bn perpetual bonds

Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) has fully redeemed its 2020 perpetual capital bonds (second tranche). The bonds, issued on August 20, 2020, had a total issuance size of RMB 35 billion in the national interbank bond market.

According to the bond's prospectus, ABC held the right to redeem the bonds on the fifth interest payment date. This date was originally August 24, 2025, but due to it being a holiday, the payment was extended to the next working day, August 25, 2025.

As of the announcement date, and with the approval of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, ABC has exercised its redemption right, fully repurchasing the bonds.
