Shanghai airports report strong June passenger growth

Shanghai International Airport reported strong June performance across both airports. Pudong International Airport saw passenger throughput jump 10.05% year-on-year to 690.14 million, with international routes driving growth through 17.68% higher passenger numbers and 14.60% more aircraft movements.

Hongqiao International Airport recorded more modest gains with passenger throughput up 4.87% to 407.40 million, primarily from domestic routes. Aircraft movements rose 5.21% to 22,806.

Cargo performance was solid at both airports, with Pudong handling 33.97 million tons (up 7.33%) and Hongqiao processing 3.62 million tons (up 6.61%).
