China Merchants Energy Shipping takes delivery of new vessel

China Merchants Energy Shipping has announced the delivery of the "Ming Shi," a 62,000 DWT supramax heavy-lift multipurpose vessel. This is the second of four similar eco-friendly vessels ordered by the company in 2023, designed with advanced green concepts and equipped with three 150-ton cranes.

The addition of the "Ming Shi" will expand the company's multipurpose fleet and improve its service capabilities. This strategic move comes at a time when the global dry bulk fleet is aging, and capacity is structurally short.

The "Ming Shi" series vessels offer multi-cargo handling, high versatility, and global trading capabilities. Their deployment is expected to bolster China Merchants Energy Shipping's cargo carrying capacity and competitiveness in niche markets, laying a solid foundation for enhanced core competitiveness and sustained profitability in the dry bulk sector.

As of the announcement date, China Merchants Energy Shipping operates 102 dry bulk vessels.
