China Coal Energy's May coal sales decline slightly

China Coal Energy (SSE:601898) announced its primary production and operation data for May 2025. The company's commodity coal output increased by 1.9% year-over-year to 1,190,000 tonnes, while commodity coal sales decreased by 4.9% to 2,179,000 tonnes. Significant declines were seen in the production of polyethylene, down 28.4% to 4,800 tonnes, and polypropylene, down 29.3% to 4,100 tonnes. Urea production increased marginally by 1.1% to 18,600 tonnes, and methanol production increased slightly by 0.6% to 16,900 tonnes. The value of coal mining equipment output increased 12.2% to CNY 8.3 million. The company cautioned that these figures are preliminary and subject to change, influenced by factors including policy adjustments, market conditions, and unforeseen events.
