Shanghai airport traffic surges in May 2025

Shanghai International Airport (SSE:600009) announced robust growth in its transport production for May 2025. Total aircraft takeoffs and landings at Pudong International Airport reached 46,339, a 5.64% increase year-over-year. Passenger throughput at Pudong surged by 13.03% to 707,420, while cargo volume saw a 5.97% rise to 33,540 tonnes. Domestic routes at Pudong experienced moderate growth, whereas international routes showed substantial increases. At Hongqiao International Airport, total aircraft movements increased by 3.64% to 23,914. Hongqiao's passenger throughput rose by 6.15% to 430,620, and cargo throughput grew by 4.51% to 3,600 tonnes. The company noted that figures exclude general aviation flights and some data discrepancies may exist due to rounding.
