Henan Dayou Energy subsidiary suspends production after fatality

Henan Dayou Energy Co., Ltd. [SSE:600403] announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yima Coal Industry Group Mengjin Coal Mine, has suspended production following an accident on May 15, 2025, that resulted in one fatality. Preliminary investigations indicate a worker was struck by a drill rod during coal cutting operations. The Mengjin mine, with a designed production capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, accounts for 7.84% of the company's total designed capacity. In 2024, the mine produced 1.2305 million tons of marketable coal, generating CNY 581 million in revenue, representing 12.71% and 11.78% of the company's total marketable coal production and revenue, respectively. For the first quarter of 2025, Mengjin Coal Mine produced 238,400 tons of marketable coal, generating CNY 106 million in revenue, accounting for 8.82% and 9.81% of the company's total marketable coal production and revenue, respectively. The company stated that it is currently unable to determine when production will resume and will provide updates as the situation develops. Investors are advised to exercise caution.
