Cosco Shipping Development profits surge in Q1 2025

COSCO SHIPPING Development (SSE:601866) reported a strong start to 2025, with first-quarter revenue reaching CNY 5,417.75 million, a 9.68% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose to CNY 480.45 million, a 7.56% increase year-over-year, while net profit excluding non-recurring items soared 105.52% to CNY 472.59 million. The company attributed the surge in profits to effective market expansion and cost reduction efforts, particularly within its container manufacturing segment, which saw increased sales and improved operational efficiency. Cash flow from operating activities also showed significant growth, increasing 41.20% to CNY 501.93 million, reflecting a healthy increase in revenue from container leasing and manufacturing. Basic and diluted earnings per share both increased to CNY 0.0360.
