Foton Motor's March 2025 sales surge amidst NEV growth

Beiqi Foton Motor (SSE:600166) announced its March 2025 production and sales data, revealing a notable increase in overall performance. The company's total sales reached 72,953 vehicles, up 9.80% year-over-year, while production volume totaled 77,068 vehicles, a 13.04% increase. A significant contributor to this growth was the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, with sales soaring by 174.21% to 10,877 units and production jumping 141.03% to 12,314 units. Sales of Foton Daimler's heavy trucks reached 10,630 units, with cumulative sales of 23,668 units for the first three months, up 38.73% year-on-year. Foton Cummins engine sales reached 17,897 units in March and 47,269 units cumulatively for the first three months, with a year-on-year increase of 2.68%. Despite an overall increase in production and sales, engine product sales (including Foton Cummins) decreased by 4.43% to 24,095 units, and the production decreased by 19.51%. The company's performance reflects a positive trend driven by NEV adoption and strong performance in heavy truck sales.
