Citic Securities unit issues notes, backed by guarantee

CITIC Securities Co., Ltd. [SSE:600030] announced that its overseas wholly-owned subsidiary, CITIC Securities International, will guarantee the issuance of medium-term notes by its subsidiary, CSI MTN Limited. The notes, issued under a program with a total principal amount of up to $5 billion, included tranches of $25 million, 250 million HKD (Hong Kong dollars), and $6 million issued between March 18-19, 2025. Following this issuance, the total principal amount of notes issued under the program has reached $2.753 billion. The guarantee involved an adjustment of $2 billion within CITIC Securities' existing 2024 financing guarantee plan, specifically reallocating funds between subsidiaries with asset-liability ratios exceeding 70%. As of the announcement date, CITIC Securities' total external guarantees stand at approximately RMB 162.836 billion, representing 60.57% of its latest audited net assets.
