Shaanxi coal production up, electricity generation down in January

Shaanxi Coal Industry Company (SSE:601225) announced its key operating data for January 2025, revealing a mixed performance. Coal production volume reached 1,428,160 tonnes, a 2.69% increase year-over-year. Sales volume of self-produced coal increased to 1,293,390 tonnes, an increase of 1.72% year-over-year. However, total electricity generation experienced a significant decline of 13.19%, totaling 33.18 billion kilowatt-hours. Electricity sales also dropped by 13.42% to 31.10 billion kilowatt-hours. The company noted that the figures include the consolidated financial statements of Shaanxi Electric Power Group, which became a subsidiary in December 2024. Shaanxi Coal Industry Company cautions that these internal statistics may differ from official reports and advises investors to exercise caution.
