China Minsheng Bank issues CNY 10bn green bonds

China Minsheng Banking Corp (CMBC) has successfully issued 10 billion yuan of green financial bonds, according to an announcement released February 19, 2025. The issuance, approved by the People's Bank of China, took place on the national interbank bond market. Officially titled "China Minsheng Banking Co., Ltd. 2025 Green Financial Bonds (First Phase)", the bonds were book-built on February 14, 2025 and fully issued by February 18, 2025. The bonds have a three-year term with a fixed interest rate of 1.70%. CMBC specified that the funds raised will be used for green industry projects as defined by the "Green Bond Support Project Catalog (2021 Edition)" and in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory approvals.
