China Coal Energy January production mixed amid fluctuations

China Coal Energy (SSE:601898) announced its January 2025 production and sales data, revealing a mixed performance across its key business segments. Coal production remained steady at 1.148 million tons, with sales volume mirroring the previous year at 2.163 million tons. The company saw significant growth in its coal chemical operations, particularly in urea, with production surging 77.2% year-on-year to 17,900 tons, and methanol output rising 54.8% to 17,800 tons. However, the mining equipment sector experienced a decline, with output value decreasing by 11.7% to RMB 830 million. Sales of ammonium nitrate decreased by 18.9% to 4,300 tons.
