Bank of China appoints Zhang Hui as vice chairman and executive director

Bank of China (SSE: 601988) announced the appointment of Zhang Hui as Vice Chairman and Executive Director, effective January 8, 2025. Shareholders elected Mr. Zhang as an Executive Director on December 20, 2024, and the board subsequently appointed him as Vice Chairman. He will also serve on the board's Strategic Development Committee. Mr. Zhang's three-year term follows his tenure as the bank's president, beginning December 2024. Prior to joining Bank of China, he served as Vice President of China Development Bank and held various senior roles at Bank of Communications, including Chief Risk Officer. He holds an economics degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University. Mr. Zhang will receive compensation based on his management position, not board fees.
