IDEX Biometrics secures largest biometric access card orders from AuthenTrend

IDEX Biometrics ASA has secured its largest-volume orders to date for biometric access cards from AuthenTrend, a leading Asia-Pacific security solutions provider. These orders reflect increasing enterprise demand for biometric smart cards as organizations seek to combat escalating AI-powered credential theft. AuthenTrend will deploy IDEX biometric cards to major enterprises, replacing vulnerable password and SMS-based authentication with offline biometric vaults to eliminate centralized attack surfaces.

Anders Storbråten, chief executive of IDEX Biometrics, emphasized that the technology stores credentials offline in a biometric vault, accessible only via a biometric signature, ensuring compliance with GDPR, PCI-DSS, and data sovereignty requirements. This approach is crucial for protecting against AI-powered attacks that can simultaneously probe millions of accounts.

AuthenTrend, founded in 2016, is recognized for its expertise in biometric authentication technology, including being a pioneer of fingerprint security keys. The company has been trusted by Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), FIDO, and RSA.
