AF Gruppen secures significant North Sea decommissioning contract

AF Offshore Decom, part of AF Gruppen, has signed a contract with Ithaca Energy for the engineering, receipt, dismantling, and recycling of a floating production platform. The platform, from the British sector of the North Sea, has a total weight of approximately 23,000 tonnes.

The unit is scheduled to be received at AF Miljøbase Vats in 2026. The contract value is estimated to be in the range of MNOK 225–275, excluding VAT.

Lars Myhre Hjelmeset, executive vice president offshore at AF Gruppen, expressed satisfaction with the contract award, highlighting it as an acknowledgment of their commitment to delivering sustainable decommissioning solutions.
