Odfjell Drilling secures Deepsea Aberdeen contract with Equinor

Odfjell Drilling Ltd. announced the signing of a contract for the Deepsea Aberdeen, following a Letter of Intent from November 16, 2025. The agreement with Equinor covers an unspecified interim scope on the Norwegian Continental Shelf before the rig moves to the Fram Sør project, offshore Norway.

Work is scheduled to commence in Q4 2026, directly succeeding the Deepsea Aberdeen's current contract, and is estimated to run until Q1 2029. This contract adds approximately $373 million to the firm order backlog, excluding integrated services, performance bonuses, fuel incentives, and yearly escalation increases.

Kjetil Gjersdal, CEO of Odfjell Drilling AS, expressed satisfaction with securing another contract with Equinor, noting this brings their total active rigs with the operator to three.
