AF Gruppen wins NOK 2.35bn wastewater treatment plant contract

AF Gruppen ASA has announced the formal award of a NOK 2,350 million (excluding VAT) contract for the expansion of an existing wastewater treatment plant at Strømmen in Romerike. This follows the initial selection of AF Gruppen as total contractor by Nedre Romerike vann- og avløpsselskap IKS (NRVA IKS) on July 2, 2024.

The project has now moved from the development, planning, and design phase to Phase 2, which encompasses detailed design and construction. AF Gruppen's scope of work involves rock extraction, ground and concrete work, and technical disciplines, all to be performed within the existing mountain facility at Strømmen.

Construction efforts are currently underway and are scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2028. Amund Tøftum, chief executive of AF Gruppen, expressed satisfaction with the contract award, highlighting the company's commitment to continuing strong collaboration with NRVA IKS.
