Wallenius Wilhelmsen extends two major shipping contracts for $500m

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has extended two key strategic shipping service contracts with an estimated additional value of close to $500m. The first extension, with a leading premium European auto manufacturer, adds three years to the contract, now ending in 2030. This extension is valued at $384m based on expected volumes, bringing the total contract value to $580m. It includes additional volumes, trade lanes, and a multi-fuel BAF mechanism to reduce emissions, with rates in line with current market levels. This renewed agreement commenced in October 2025.

The second contract extension is with a leading European heavy equipment manufacturer, extending the agreement by two years through 2028. This extension is valued at $114m based on expected volumes, contributing to a total contract value of $175m. Rates are consistent with current market levels, and the customer has committed to introducing a multi-fuel BAF. This renewed agreement started on December 1, 2025.

Pia Synnerman, chief customer officer, highlighted the strength of long-standing partnerships and a shared commitment towards zero emissions and integrated supply chains. The company emphasized both customers' desire to build on existing collaborations for further integrating and optimizing their supply chains.
