Telenor Pakistan sale gets final regulatory nod from PTA

Telenor ASA announced today that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued its "No Objection Certificate" for the change in ownership control of Telenor Pakistan to Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd (PTCL). This marks the conclusion of all required regulatory approvals for the transaction, originally announced on December 14, 2023.

The sale of Telenor Pakistan, which involves 100% of Telenor Pakistan (private) Limited, is now expected to be completed "as soon as possible" once final legal requirements are fulfilled.

As a direct consequence, Telenor Pakistan will be accounted for as a discontinued business starting from the company's fourth quarter 2025 report.
