Vow ASA secures €29.6m contract for cruise ship clean technology

Vow ASA, through its subsidiary Scanship, has been awarded a €29.6 million purchase order from a major European shipyard. The contract covers equipment deliveries for two newbuild cruise ships, commencing in July 2027 for the first vessel and continuing through 2028. The first ship is projected to enter operation by the end of 2029.

The agreement solidifies Vow's ongoing collaboration with the shipyard and cruise line, providing Scanship's integrated clean ship solutions. These systems will purify all wastewater to stringent standards for the Baltic Sea and Alaskan State waters, and process residue sludge, food, and biogenic waste through dewatering, homogenization, drying, and pyrolysis.

Furthermore, the waste management system will enhance onboard circularity by recovering valuable commodities like glass and aluminum. This order underscores Vow's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recovering resources, and preventing pollution in the maritime industry.
