Kongsberg lands €500m NASAMS air defense contract with Denmark

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a €500 million contract with the Danish government for the delivery of the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS). This acquisition will significantly strengthen Denmark's operational capabilities against modern air threats and bolster the overall NASAMS presence in the Nordic region.

The NASAMS system combines Raytheon's radar and advanced missile variants with Kongsberg's fire distribution center and multi-missile launcher. It can utilize a mix of missiles including AMRAAM-Extended Range and AIM-9X Sidewinder for varied threat engagement distances. Denmark becomes the 14th nation to adopt NASAMS and the 8th NATO user, highlighting the system's position as a leading mobile medium-range air defense solution for NATO allies.

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, an international technology group, reported a total revenue of NOK 48.9 billion in 2024. The company employs over 15,000 individuals across 40 countries, providing high-tech solutions in diverse markets including defense, maritime, energy, and aerospace.
