Nel ASA partners with GreenH for major Norwegian hydrogen projects

Nel ASA has signed an agreement to be the technology provider for GreenH AS's Enova-supported hydrogen projects in Kristiansund and Slagentangen, Norway. This partnership follows GreenH's recent investment decisions and progress on its hydrogen initiatives. Nel will deliver electrolyser equipment, engineering, and technical support for these projects.

The facilities, located in Kristiansund and Slagentangen, are integral to GreenH's strategy to establish a network of distributed hydrogen production sites across Norway. These sites will supply green hydrogen to industrial and maritime users, aiming to decarbonize these sectors. GreenH emphasizes scalable solutions close to end-users to reduce logistics costs and foster efficient regional hydrogen value chains.

The final scope, size, and delivery schedules for the electrolyser equipment will be confirmed later, with a minimum capacity of 10 MW per site, totaling over 20 MW across both locations. Morten Solberg Watle, chief executive of GreenH, expressed satisfaction with Nel joining as a partner, while Håkon Volldal, chief executive of Nel ASA, highlighted the company's commitment to supporting Norway's regional hydrogen infrastructure development.
