Aker Solutions secures sizable inspection services extension with Equinor

Aker Solutions has secured a "sizeable" four-year contract extension, effective January 1, 2026, to provide onshore and offshore inspection services for Equinor in Norway. This extension, resulting from Equinor exercising an option, will see Aker Solutions continue to deliver conventional and advanced inspection services, as well as planning and engineering, across more than 15 operating facilities. Aker Solutions defines a sizeable contract as being between NOK 0.5 billion and NOK 1.5 billion.

The scope of work encompasses key assets including the Statfjord, Martin Linge, Oseberg, Åsgard, Kristin, Heidrun, and Njord fields, along with the Mongstad onshore refinery. Services will be carried out by Aker Solutions personnel located in Stavanger, Bergen, and Trondheim. The company's executive vice president, Paal Eikeseth, highlighted their use of evolving technologies like drones and data-driven algorithms to support operators in asset condition assessment and risk management.

This contract extension will be booked as order intake in the fourth quarter of 2025 within Aker Solutions' Life Cycle segment. The agreement underscores Aker Solutions' core capabilities in maintaining asset integrity and supporting timely decision-making for its clients in the energy sector.
