poLight secures key design-win for TLens in medical AR glasses

poLight ASA has announced a design-win for its TLens tunable lens technology, which is being incorporated into the SnkeXR augmented reality (AR) headset, specifically designed for medical applications. The SnkeXR device is scheduled for unveiling on November 4, 2025, at the Medical Extended Reality Summit. This collaboration marks another significant validation of poLight's optical technology leadership in the AR/MR market and its commitment to medical innovations.

According to Dr. Øyvind Isaksen, chief executive of poLight ASA, this integration demonstrates the ongoing commitment to enabling groundbreaking applications in medical markets. Nissan Elimelech, general manager of Snke XR, stated that TLens technology enables superior camera performance, accelerating the adoption of AR in medical devices and workflows and ensuring reliable performance in demanding clinical environments.

Snke, spun out of Brainlab in June 2025, developed the SnkeXR glasses as a medical-grade, open-platform AR headset. It is engineered to facilitate AR technology integration into medical devices, featuring high-precision sensors, real-time spatial awareness, and advanced tracking, all manufactured in compliance with stringent regulatory and quality standards.
