Pyrum Innovations to break ground on largest recycling plant in 2025

Pyrum Innovations AG announced the official ground-breaking ceremony for its new Perl-Besch plant on November 14, 2025. This facility, planned to be Pyrum’s largest, will boast an annual recycling capacity exceeding 22,000 tonnes of end-of-life tires, more than doubling the company’s current capacity. The plant, entirely Pyrum-operated, is strategically located near the Moselle river at the Germany-France-Luxembourg border, offering logistical advantages. Commissioning is anticipated in 2027.

The new plant will cover approximately 25,000 m² and integrate a shredder, three latest-generation Pyrum reactors, a power plant, and a grinding and pelletising unit. Preliminary work, including groundwork and ordering long-lead components, is already underway.

Financing for the equity portion includes part of a €25 million credit line from BASF, with a term sheet from a major European bank securing 70% of the debt capital. The company aims to break even with the plant’s commissioning in 2027.
