Finanstilsynet approves Agder and Birkenes Sparebank merger

Finanstilsynet, Norway's financial supervisory authority, has granted permission for the merger of Agder Sparebank and Birkenes Sparebank. The combined entity is slated to complete its integration on November 3, 2025, and will operate under the name Agder Sparebank.

The newly merged bank will be subject to a consolidated Pillar 2 requirement of 1.8%. Finanstilsynet also indicated that the combined bank's capital requirement margin should be at least 1.5%.
