Andfjord Salmon board member takes key construction role

Andfjord Salmon announced that Gro Skaar Knutsen is stepping down from its board of directors to assume a direct operational role in the company's large-scale construction activities at Kvalnes, Andøya. This move, effective October 10, 2025, sees Knutsen leveraging her industry expertise to identify and implement efficiency measures and create synergies across the construction process. A primary focus will be on securing repeatability effects in pool production to optimize costs and ensure continuous improvement in future expansion phases.

Knutsen's extensive background includes serving as chief executive of Peab Bjørn Bygg, one of Northern Norway's largest construction companies, until 2024. She also held senior project consultant and engineering roles at Sweco and has over a decade of experience as an advisor to construction companies in Norway.

Martin Rasmussen, chief executive of Andfjord Salmon, expressed enthusiasm for Knutsen's hands-on involvement, noting her proven track record in large-scale construction projects and strong leadership skills will significantly strengthen the company's ability to execute its growth strategy. Andfjord Salmon aims to develop a sustainable, fish-friendly aquaculture facility.
