Horisont Energi relaunches with strategic restructuring and new focus

Horisont Energi AS has announced a significant strategy update from its board of directors, focusing on revenue-generating activities and a complete strategic restructuring. The company will continue developing its Gismarvik CO2 terminal in Haugaland Industrial Park, Norway. This terminal will serve as the foundation for its "innovation arm," conducting paid studies for CO2 emitters, terminal customers, and storage providers.

Furthermore, Horisont Energi will establish an "engineering arm" to undertake commercial projects for external clients and its majority shareholder, the NOS Group / BR Industrier Group. Chairman of the board, Olav Østhus, stated that the NOS Group, supported by the BR Industrier Group, will deploy substantial industrial resources to enable Horisont Energi to achieve positive net results, targeted as early as 2026.

The board and management will work actively through the end of 2025 to facilitate these goals and position the company for success, emphasizing the necessity of this restructuring for future viability. Brita Holstad remains chief executive, with Olav Østhus serving as chair of the board and chief financial officer of BR Industrier AS.
