Veidekke wins SEK 117m Sigtuna contract for cultural center

Veidekke has been awarded a contract by Sigtuna Municipality to build a cultural and activity center in Valsta, outside Stockholm. This design-and-build contract, valued at approximately SEK 117 million, is slated for completion in the autumn of 2026. The new two-story building will span over 2,000 square meters and house a café, library, art spaces, and facilities for cultural events and meetings.

The project prioritizes sustainability and safety, with construction largely utilizing wood and adhering to Miljöbyggnad Silver certification standards. The outdoor environment will be designed in accordance with BoTryggt2030's recommendations for safe urban and residential areas. Sigtuna Municipality highlights the center's role in creating a vibrant town square and a meeting place for all ages.

This contract will be included in Veidekke's order book for the third quarter of 2025. The initiative aligns with Sigtuna's Valsta 2030 development proposal and the broader "Samhällsbyggnadslyftet" program, which aims to reduce segregation and enhance the municipality's attractiveness.
