Nel ASA secures third electrolyser order from H2 Energy for Swiss facility

Nel Hydrogen US, a subsidiary of Nel ASA, has received a firm purchase order from H2 Energy for one MC500, a containerized 2.5 MW PEM electrolyser. This system, marking the second MC500 ordered by H2 Energy, will be delivered to the Association for Waste Disposal (VfA) in Buchs, Switzerland. It will create a turn-key hydrogen production and refueling facility. The hydrogen produced will integrate into the Swiss green hydrogen ecosystem, supporting regional energy decarbonization and mobility solutions. This includes VfA's waste collection trucks and broader industrial use.

Rolf Huber, founder and chairman of H2 Energy, highlighted their long-standing cooperation with Nel since 2016. He noted their existing C30 and MC400 PEM electrolysers form the backbone of the Swiss Green Hydrogen Ecosystem, fueling 18 refueling stations and a fleet of heavy-duty fuel cell trucks that have covered over 14,000,000 kilometers. This new project for VfA is seen as a significant milestone for the Swiss Green Hydrogen Ecosystem.

Todd Cartwright, chief commercial officer at Nel, expressed enthusiasm for supporting H2 Energy and VfA Buchs, emphasizing H2 Energy's pioneering role in developing a commercial green hydrogen value chain. He also underlined Nel's commitment to delivering high-quality projects and strengthening client relationships.
