HAV design names new CEO, Schofield to start by 2026

HAV Design, HAV Group’s ship design subsidiary, has appointed Richard Schofield as its new chief executive. Schofield, a British citizen, brings 20 years of leadership experience from the maritime sector, with a background including roles at maritime suppliers such as Kongsberg Evotec and Vard Electro, and at ship design company Ulstein Design & Solutions. He holds an engineering degree from Loughborough University.

Schofield joins HAV Design from his position as head of industrial competitiveness at NCE iKuben. Gunnar Larsen, chief executive of HAV Group and chairman of HAV Design, highlighted Schofield's broad experience in ship design, engineering, project management, operations, and technology development.

Schofield succeeds Stig Magne Espeseth, who has transitioned to the role of SVP design within the company. HAV Group ASA is an international provider of technology and services for maritime and marine industries.
