Diana Shipping secures new time charter for Leonidas P. C.

Diana Shipping Inc. today announced a time charter contract with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, Tokyo, for its m/v Leonidas P. C., an 82,165 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel built in 2011. The charter, commencing September 24, 2025, is set at a gross rate of $14,000, minus a 5.00% commission, and will run until at least September 15, 2026, and up to November 15, 2026. This agreement is expected to generate approximately $4.93m in gross revenue over the minimum scheduled period.

The company's fleet currently comprises 36 dry bulk vessels, including 4 Newcastlemax, 8 Capesize, 4 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 5 Panamax, and 9 Ultramax vessels. Diana Shipping also anticipates the delivery of two methanol dual fuel new-building Kamsarmax vessels by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028. Excluding these newbuilds, the fleet's combined carrying capacity is approximately 4.1m dwt, with a weighted average age of 11.83 years.
