Elkem enters exclusive sale talks for Silicones division

Elkem ASA announced on September 18, 2025, it has entered an exclusive sales process for its Silicones division with a major industrial player in the global chemicals industry. This follows a strategic review initiated on January 23, 2025, aimed at streamlining Elkem and enabling capital allocation to accelerate growth in its Silicon Products and Carbon Solutions divisions. The company views this as a crucial step amid a challenging market.

The exclusive negotiations are expected to lead to a transaction closing in the first half of 2026, subject to further agreements and necessary approvals. Elkem is confident this potential sale represents the best possible outcome for all stakeholders involved. ABG Sundal Collier ASA is acting as the financial advisor for Elkem in this process.

Elkem, a global leader in advanced silicon-based materials, reported an operating income of NOK 33 bn in 2024. The company emphasizes sustainable solutions and innovation, employing over 7,200 people.
