Borregaard lowers Q3 cellulose guidance after production outage

Borregaard ASA has announced a temporary disruption at its Sarpsborg facility, which affected the production of speciality cellulose by restricting output to non-standard grades and delaying shipments. The outage stemmed from an unforeseen issue with a key chemical supplier at the site. Production of other biorefinery products remained unaffected.

The company now expects speciality cellulose deliveries for the third quarter to reach approximately 30,000 tonnes, a reduction from the previously forecasted range of 35,000 to 38,000 tonnes.

Borregaard estimates a negative impact on the group's EBITDA for the third quarter in the range of NOK 40-50 million.
