HAV Group wins third ferry contract with Tersan Shipyard, expanding electric ferry market presence

HAV Group ASA's subsidiary, specializing in energy design and smart control systems, secured a contract with Tersan Shipyard. The company will be the system integrator, providing power and automation systems for a new ferry, NB 1137, a replicate of two previously announced new builds.

The contract, valued at over €7 million, includes a complete power system with engines, generators, transformers, switchboards, batteries, a charging interface, and an integrated automation system. Most equipment deliveries are scheduled for 2026.

This is HAV Group’s third contract with Tersan Shipyard in under five months. The company notes significant synergy effects with the two previous projects, which they plan to leverage to reduce execution risks. Norwegian Electric Systems AS (NES) is the contract party for HAV Group.

HAV Group chief executive, Gunnar Larsen, highlighted the rapidly growing global market for electric ferries, especially in Europe. He expressed satisfaction with securing another contract in their home market, noting NES's expanding track record in delivering power and automation systems for ferries provides a competitive advantage.
