ABL group names new chief executive, shifts executive roles

ABL Group ASA's board of directors has appointed Hege Marie Norheim as the new chief executive, effective September 15, 2025. Norheim, who has served on the ABL Group board for two years, brings 30 years of senior leadership experience from oil and gas, renewables, and IT sectors, including roles at Norsk Hydro, Statoil (Equinor), FREYR, and Sopra Steria. She also served as a junior minister in the Norwegian Prime Minister’s office and the ministry of finance.

Reuben Segal, chief executive since 2022 and co-founder of ABL Group’s predecessor in 2013, will transition to chief growth officer (CGO). This new position will leverage his customer-centric skills, global network, and M&A experience. Concurrently, Ian Cummins, the current chief commercial officer, will become chief performance officer, focusing on operational efficiencies and performance.

Chairman Glen Rødland highlighted the board's objective for improved return on capital, continued growth, and industry consolidation. Norheim stated her priority is to deliver profitable growth in a volatile energy and marine market. She will step down from the board upon assuming the chief executive role.
