Sunnhordland Kraftlag reports strong first-half 2025 earnings, driven by increased production

Sunnhordland Kraftlag AS (SKL) reported a strong first-half 2025 result, with a net profit after tax of NOK 291.8 million for the consolidated group, up from NOK 232.2 million in the same period of 2024. This positive outcome was primarily driven by increased production, with total power output from SKL AS facilities reaching 1,306 GWh, compared to 1,026 GWh in the first half of 2024. The average area price also rose to NOK 0.729 per kWh from NOK 0.629 per kWh in 2024.

The company's operating revenue increased to NOK 1,286.3 million from NOK 920.4 million in the prior year period. Operating expenses also rose to NOK 379.9 million from NOK 304.6 million, mainly due to the expanded scope of operations following an acquisition. Despite higher financing costs, the overall result before tax was NOK 867.5 million, up from NOK 611.9 million.

SKL maintained high project activity, investing NOK 121.0 million in fixed assets, with NOK 32.3 million allocated to new power projects such as Fjellhaugen, Onarheim, and Tøsse power plants. The consolidated equity totaled NOK 3,856.6 million as of June 30, 2025, representing an equity ratio of 54.9%.
