SkyCity announces NZICC grand opening date for February 2026

SkyCity Entertainment Group has announced that the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) will officially open on February 11, 2026. This milestone event is expected to significantly benefit Auckland and New Zealand, with SkyCity chief executive Jason Walbridge highlighting over 100 events already confirmed for 2026.

Walbridge emphasized that the NZICC represents a "powerful investment into New Zealand's future," poised to generate opportunities for local businesses, create jobs, and enhance Auckland's global event capabilities. Prue Daly, general manager of NZICC, detailed plans for an initial celebration including a dawn blessing, a building showcase, a concert, and a public open day.

The NZICC will launch with a diverse program of international and domestic conferences, concerts, and exhibitions. Positioned as a gateway to Auckland's city center, it will offer easy access to luxury accommodation, award-winning dining, and premier retail precincts.
