Kiwi Property gets fast-track approval for Drury town centre development

Kiwi Property Group Limited announced it has secured Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 approval for Stage 1 and Stage 2 of its Drury Metropolitan Town Centre project. This milestone enables the company to advance one of New Zealand's key mixed-use developments, poised to become a vibrant metropolitan hub in South Auckland featuring retail, commercial, and residential spaces with integrated transport and public amenities.

According to chief executive Clive Mackenzie, this approval is a "major milestone" for Kiwi Property and for South Auckland, allowing the creation of a "thriving town centre" with world-class retail, office spaces, new homes, and essential infrastructure. The approval specifically covers changes to Stage 1 and full consent for Stage 2, which includes subdividing Stage 1 land, enabling earthworks, and constructing shops, offices, homes, and community spaces on Stage 2 land, alongside essential infrastructure like roads and car parks.

Stage 1 earthworks are complete, with civil works currently underway. Kiwi Property is committed to engaging with local communities and iwi to ensure the development supports sustainable growth and reflects shared aspirations.
