Mercury NZ finalizes DRP, issues over 10m new shares

Mercury NZ Limited announced the finalization of its dividend reinvestment plan (DRP) for the FY2025 final dividend, issuing 10,427,857 new ordinary shares. These shares, valued at NZD 6.68400000 per security, were issued to existing shareholders participating in the DRP, bringing the total number of quoted MCY ordinary securities to 1,417,393,024. The issue date for these securities was September 30, 2025.

The new shares rank equally in all respects with existing ordinary shares from their issue date. The underlying dividend or distribution plan, which led to this issuance, was lodged with the ASX on August 19, 2025. This move reflects Mercury’s continued commitment to its DRP program, allowing shareholders to reinvest dividends into additional equity.

Mercury NZ generates electricity from 100% renewable sources and is also a retailer of electricity, gas, broadband, and mobile services. The New Zealand government maintains a minimum 51% shareholding in the company, which is listed on both the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges.
