Air New Zealand buys back over 1.2m shares

Air New Zealand has completed the acquisition of 1,285,499 ordinary shares, as detailed in a capital change notice dated June 2023. This total includes 629,795 shares acquired on NZX and ASX, and an additional 655,704 shares purchased off-market from the Crown. These acquisitions are part of a board-approved buy-back program announced on February 20, 2025.

The average acquisition price for shares on NZX was NZD $0.5937, while shares on ASX were acquired at an average of AUD $0.5240. The off-market acquisition from the Crown was priced at NZD $0.5938 per share. All payments were made in cash and paid in full, representing 0.0392% of the total ordinary shares in existence (excluding treasury stock).

Following these transactions, the total number of ordinary shares (excluding treasury stock) stands at 3,276,755,751, with 93 shares now held as treasury stock. The acquired shares are slated for cancellation, with the on-market shares settling and cancelling on September 30, 2025, and the off-market shares settling and cancelling on October 1, 2025.
