Briscoe Group appoints Mark Cairns as independent director

Briscoe Group Limited announced the appointment of Mark Cairns as an independent non-executive director, effective November 1, 2025. This appointment follows the previously announced intention of Andy Coupe to retire from the board at next year’s annual shareholders meeting.

Dame Rosanne Meo, chair of Briscoe Group, expressed confidence that Mr. Cairns' experience and skills in logistics, infrastructure, complex supply chains, and capital markets will significantly benefit the group. Mr. Cairns' notable past roles include chief executive for Port of Tauranga, Toll Owens, and Owens Cargo Company.

Currently, Mark Cairns serves as chair of Freightways Limited, having joined their board in 2021, and is also a director of Auckland International Airport Limited. He holds a first-class honours degree in civil engineering, a degree in business studies, and a master of management. Mr. Cairns is a fellow of Engineering New Zealand and a chartered fellow of the Institute of Directors. In line with NZX listing rules, he will retire at the 2026 annual meeting but intends to seek re-election.
