Auckland Airport sees passenger and aircraft growth in August 2025

Auckland International Airport recorded 784,515 total international passengers in August 2025, a 1% increase compared to the prior year. International seat capacity rose by 4%, though average load factors dipped 1.9 percentage points to 78%. Domestic passenger movements saw a significant 6% increase for the month, with seat capacity also up 6%, maintaining flat year-on-year load factors at 84%.

For the rolling 12-month period, total passengers at Auckland Airport increased by 1% to 18,762,285. International aircraft movements for the month were up 4% to 4,305, while domestic aircraft movements grew by 3% to 8,474. Total aircraft movements for the month increased by 3% to 12,779.

Queenstown Airport also experienced strong growth in August 2025, with international passenger numbers up 8% and domestic passengers rising 7%. International passenger numbers at Queenstown reached a new all-time high of 105,942 for the month.
