ANZ appoints Kevin Corbally managing director, capital management institutional

Effective September 11, 2025, ANZ has announced the appointment of Kevin Corbally as managing director, capital Management institutional. Mr. Corbally will step down from his current position as group chief risk officer, a role he has held at ANZ since 2018. In his new capacity, he will report to Mark Whelan, ANZ's group executive, institutional, and join the institutional bank's leadership team.

During his tenure as group chief risk officer, Mr. Corbally was instrumental in leading ANZ's risk function through significant technological and regulatory changes. He oversaw a notable improvement in ANZ's credit profile, shifting the bank from having the highest credit losses to the lowest among its domestic peers prior to his appointment. His contributions also include leading ANZ's response to the 2018 banking royal commission and navigating the organization through the covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Corbally will remain in his group chief risk officer role until a replacement is appointed, with an announcement expected in due course. In his new role, he will be responsible for embedding enhanced capital management strategies within the institutional business.
