Vector reports sharp drop in new connections amid slowdown

Vector reported new electricity connections fell 21.4% and new gas connections dropped 33.0% for the year ended 30 June 2025, attributed to economic slowdown.

Electricity distributed volume decreased 1.4% to 8,634 GWh, with residential volumes down 2.9%. Gas distribution volume declined 8.5% to 11.9 PJ.

Unplanned outage minutes increased 19.7% in the three months to June, including impacts from Cyclone Tam.
